Great spot to host an event!! We hosted a family gathering pre-wedding here and it was great to bring in our own caterer and had enough seating and amenities that we didn’t need to bring much with us. Will definitely book the space again in the future!

Where are you located at?

We are at The Barnyard Shopping Village in Carmel. Offering all-day free parking, courtyards, retail and restaurants. Located only 25 minutes from Salinas and 5 minutes from the ocean. Find Us

What are the available hours?

You can book from 6am to 11:30pm Monday through Sunday, including Holidays. Access is provided via remote entry, allowing you full control of the space.

What are the cleaning fees?

We offer two cleaning fee options with our Packages.

  • Basic cleaning you are responsible for wiping down the tables and chairs and returing them to storage. All decorations and trash must be placed in trash receptacles provided.

  • Upgrade cleaning simply take down the decorations and place your trash in receptacles provided.

What is the guest capacity?

A maximum of 65 people at anytime. We've also have had 52 people seated for a reception dinner. Click here for layout.

What is a private event?

A private event is a gathering of guests that are invited and not advertised or promoted to the public.

Can I bring my own alcohol?

Yes, you can bring your own alcohol. Consumption is limited to private events and indoors only. Event insurance is required if you and/or your guests are consuming alcohol (beer, wine or liquor).

Can I bring my own food?

Yes, you can bring your own food. You can get it from your favorite restaurant or hire a caterer of your choosing. Cooking is not allowed inside or throughout the common and parking areas of The Barnyard. Food trucks, taco stands and other type of outdoor catering services are not allowed.

Decorations & Photo Booth

Make it your own! You can decorate the venue to fit your theme, layout and liking. Bouncy houses are allowed, please inquire.

DJ/Live Music & Dancing

Yes you can, its a celebration! Please be respectful of our neighbors. Indoor music is allowed from soundbar included with booking. Dancing and Disc Jockey or Live Bands are allowed after 6pm from Monday through Saturday and 4pm on Sundays.

Is event insurance required?

We do require that event insurance to be provided prior to your reservation date if you and/or your guests are consuming alcohol. Also, required for all types of public events. Get a free quote online from our partner. Click here to learn more.

Is there a Refundable Security Deposit?

A "hold" is place on a credit 3 days prior to your reservation date on the card to cover any accidentals that may arise from your booking. The hold amount is $150 and it is fully refundable.

What is the refund and rescheduling policy?

Packages are non-refundable. There is a rescheduling fee. 

 

Rescheduling is available as follows:

In the event of a power outage, access to venue is hindered through all entry points or natural disaster affecting the location of the venue we will provide the option to reschedule at no cost to client.

  • 7 to 1 days prior to reservation date 75% fee of total booking amount.

  • 30 to 8 days prior to reservation date 50% fee of total booking amount.

  • 31 or more days prior to reservation date 30% of total booking amount.

  1. All bookings are first come. Bookings are not confirmed until payment is received.

  2. We reserve the right to refuse and/or cancel any booking at our own discretion for a full refund of the amount paid if applicable. 

  3. The Community Share Space assumes no liability or responsibility for any additional expenses incurred, other than those directly charged by and paid to The Community Shared Space for the rental of the event space.

  4. Discounts are provided for only the Standard Booking fee and proof must be provided at time of reservation to qualify. If proof is not provided discount will not be applied. 

  5. Please read our booking guidelines and use of space when booking The Community Shared Space.
